Sunday Igboho Threatens to Expose Sponsors of Oyo Schoolchildren Abduction

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has threatened to release the names of politicians allegedly behind the abduction of students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, intensifying public attention on the case.

Igboho made the statement while addressing newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students, led by Akinteye Bàbàtunde, during a meeting at his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan on Wednesday.

In a video circulated by Wisdom TV, the activist claimed he had volunteered to lead an operation against the kidnappers but was allegedly stopped by the state government. He also said he had never demanded any financial support from the Seyi Makinde-led administration to assist in securing the release of the 47 abducted students.

He alleged that the criminals involved were being backed by politicians who supply them with money and weapons, warning that he would expose those responsible if the attacks continued. Igboho further claimed that efforts to destabilize the country were politically motivated and aimed at making the government ungovernable.

He also stated that he had been informed by state authorities that the kidnappers allegedly threatened to kill the abducted children if he attempted a rescue operation. According to him, he had previously organized a security network known as “Iru Ekun,” which he said received federal approval but was later restricted by the state government.

Igboho reiterated his readiness to assist in flushing out kidnappers from forest areas, insisting that stronger action was needed to secure the release of victims. He also made political remarks linking insecurity to broader national leadership issues, while reaffirming his support for President Bola Tinubu and questioning efforts he described as attempts to destabilize the administration.
