NOA, Ondo Partner on Mass Vaccination Campaign

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ondo State has announced a partnership with the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (OSPHCDA) to carry out a mass immunisation campaign from May 3 to 10, 2025.

The collaboration aims to boost vaccination coverage across the state and improve overall public health.

In a statement issued on Sunday, NOA State Director, James Adekunle, welcomed a delegation from the OSPHCDA, led by its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Adegoke Akanbiemu, during an advocacy visit to Akure. Both agencies pledged to work together to ensure the success of the vaccination exercise, targeting children aged 0–15 months and 9-year-old girls for immunisation against several diseases.

Adekunle reaffirmed NOA’s commitment to supporting government health programmes, particularly through widespread information dissemination to ensure public awareness of the vaccination campaign. He also praised the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance maternal and child healthcare, stressing the need for timely communication to effectively reach the people.

Responding, Akanbiemu thanked NOA for its support and commitment to the campaign’s success. Speaking on behalf of the OSPHCDA, the Director of Disease Control, Dr. Victor Adefesoye, highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating that NOA’s expertise in public enlightenment would play a crucial role in mobilising communities for the immunisation effort.

The collaboration is considered essential for closing immunisation gaps and safeguarding the health of vulnerable children across the state. Both agencies are coordinating closely to maximise outreach and ensure the efficient delivery of vaccines during the campaign.
