The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive free application forms for the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The disclosure was made in JAMB’s weekly bulletin published on the Board’s website on Monday.
As in previous years, JAMB said the free application documents will be processed through the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG) for eligible candidates with disabilities intending to sit the examination.
The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, made this known during a meeting with key stakeholders at the Board’s national headquarters in Abuja, reaffirming JAMB’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities.
Oloyede explained that beneficiaries of the initiative include candidates living with Down syndrome, autism, dyslexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), among others.
“To support persons living with disabilities, JAMB will issue free application documents to all categories of persons living with disabilities,” he said.
“For candidates to benefit, they must possess at least five O’Level credits in not more than two sittings. In addition, audiobooks will be provided to all blind candidates.”
He noted that the audiobooks are digital versions of printed materials and will be available in common audio formats such as MP3, WMV and WMA, to ensure compatibility with audio-enabled devices.
The registrar added that the initiative reflects the Board’s determination to remove barriers and guarantee equal access to education for candidates with disabilities.
Registration for the 2026/2027 UTME began on Monday, January 26, and will close on Saturday, February 28.
