Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has expressed deep sorrow over the recent attack on residents of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area, promising that those responsible will face justice.
In a statement following his visit to the affected community on Wednesday, Governor Mutfwang said he stood with grieving families, listening to their pain and sharing in their loss. “No words can truly capture the depth of sorrow in moments like this, but I want every affected family to know you are not alone. Your pain is my pain, and the pain of Plateau State,” he said.
He assured that his administration would pursue justice relentlessly and that the perpetrators of the attack will not go unpunished. The Governor also pledged that the lives lost would be honored with dignity through befitting burials, and that the state government would cover the medical treatment of all survivors.
Governor Mutfwang called on citizens, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to collaborate with the government, emphasizing that security is a shared responsibility. “Together, we must rise above division and confront this challenge with unity and resolve,” he said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace, strengthening security, and rebuilding trust across Plateau State in the aftermath of the tragic attack.
