He Shouldn’t Suffer in Silence”: Former Miss Pepeiye Speaks Out, Backs Papa Ajasco Amid Controversy

A former actress who played Miss Pepeiye in the long-running comedy series Papa Ajasco has spoken out in defense of veteran actor Papa Ajasco, urging critics to show empathy rather than discredit his recent revelations about personal struggles.

In a candid statement, the ex-cast member stressed that those within the industry understand its realities far better than outsiders. According to her, not everyone is interested in chasing social media attention, which explains why many remain silent despite facing similar challenges.

She criticized attempts to downplay the elderly actor’s concerns, noting that while she is younger, he had already built a career long before her time on the show. She revealed that she has since resigned from the production for personal reasons, adding that a “young, beautiful, and talented lady” has taken over the Miss Pepeiye role.

The actress emphasized that her decision to move on was personal and should not be used as a benchmark for others. Instead, she called for support for the veteran actor, especially if people feel compelled to help, warning against lengthy criticisms aimed at discrediting him.

While defending the actor, she maintained respect for Wale Adenuga Productions, acknowledging the company’s contributions to the creative industry by providing a platform for talents over the years. She described its role as “noble and appreciated,” stressing that the current situation should not devolve into blame games.

Highlighting the harsh realities of Nigeria’s entertainment industry, she questioned how many actors who maintain integrity and strong values are truly thriving, urging the public to look beyond social media appearances. She argued that genuine financial success is often visible, and if the veteran actor says he is struggling, his claims should be taken seriously.

Drawing from personal experience, she disclosed that she had worked closely with both Papa Ajasco and Pa James, often engaging in conversations that revealed the challenges they face, even when they do not openly express them.

“These are men who hustle diligently with integrity, passion, and commitment to their craft,” she said, adding that they deserve recognition and support. She went as far as saying that if she had the means, she would gladly provide financial assistance, including buying them a car and a house.

The former actress also used the opportunity to clarify a branding issue, announcing that she has rebranded herself as “MS EAGLE 🦅.” She explained that the name Miss Pepeiye is a copyrighted character owned by Wale Adenuga Productions and is only used by actors during their period of engagement.

She concluded with a message of hope, stating that despite the challenges, everyone is striving to succeed, and with persistence, “grace will find us.”
