Nollywood actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele are at the center of a social media storm following a viral video from the premiere of The Return of Arinzo in Lagos on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
The footage shows Abraham approaching Akindele’s table twice to exchange greetings, only to be seemingly ignored by the actress. In response, Toyin reportedly posted on Instagram that she would never greet Funke again, a post that has since been deleted.
Funke Akindele also unfollowed Abraham on Instagram, escalating the tension and drawing widespread attention from fans and followers.
The incident has polarized audiences online. Some praised Akindele for “staying true” amid past disagreements, including their differing reactions to director Kunle Afolayan’s comments about dance video promotions in Nollywood, while others defended Toyin’s approach to the situation.
Neither actress has issued an official comment regarding the incident, but the mutual unfollowing on social media has only fueled speculation about ongoing friction between the two stars.
