Nollywood actress Toyin Adewale has dismissed online claims that her son, popular singer Mayorkun, narrowly escaped a fire that allegedly destroyed his Lagos residence.
A blog post circulating over the weekend suggested that the singer’s home was engulfed in flames following an explosion on Saturday night, sparking fears for the safety of Mayorkun and his family.
Reacting on Instagram on Sunday, Adewale called the report “seriously unfair” and criticized the platform for failing to verify its information before publication.
“Why would you do this? Don’t you verify your news before posting? This is seriously unfair,” she wrote, adding that she was leaving those behind the false report “to God.”
The actress reassured her followers, stating, “My family and I will never cry, nor sorrow, nor evil shall befall us IJN. Please… learn to do better.”
Adewale also expressed gratitude to friends and family who reached out following the viral report. “To my family and friends, I say thank you so much for the calls and messages. I sincerely appreciate,” she said.
