Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde briefly declined to engage with a young presenter who asked her to introduce herself during the 46th Miss Nigeria Patrons & Board Dinner held on Sunday.
The incident, which occurred during the high-profile event that also featured the Daily Times Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award, has since gone viral on social media.
In the trending video, the presenter who appeared visibly inexperienced approached the actress during a live segment, saying, “Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live with…?”
The question appeared to take the actress by surprise, as she paused momentarily before challenging the presenter’s approach.
“You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready,” she responded.
The presenter attempted to clarify, stating that he knew her identity and only wanted to mention it for viewers, saying, “I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know who I am with.”
However, the actress dismissed the explanation, replying, “Why should I let fans know me? I am tired.”
She then moved to walk away from the interaction, though the presenter continued to appeal to her as the interview reportedly continued briefly.
