Veteran Nigerian actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, widely known for his long-running role as Papa Ajasco, has announced a change of name as he begins a new phase in his career.
In a video shared on Instagram, the actor unveiled his new stage identity as Bondu Alaska, introducing himself to fans with the words: “Good morning Nigerians. My name is Bondu Alaska. The one and only Bondu Alaska.”
The development follows his recent revelation of financial struggles, as well as a reported disagreement with Wale Adenuga, the owner of the Papa Ajasco brand, over the use of the name.
Ayoyinka expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support over the years, noting that the name change signals the beginning of a new chapter in his life and career.
He also reassured fans of his commitment to delivering quality entertainment, promising not to disappoint those who have stood by him.
