Portable Cries Out Over Low Streaming Earnings, Seeks Don Jazzy’s Help to Boost Revenue

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has expressed frustration over what he described as poor revenue from music streaming platforms despite his consistent releases.

In a recent video broadcast, the “Zazu” crooner lamented that his earnings from Apple Music remain significantly low, even though he releases new songs monthly and enjoys a fan base beyond Nigeria.

Portable questioned the disparity in his income, noting that while he understands claims that streams from Nigeria generate less revenue, he also has listeners in the United States and other parts of the world.

“I am in pain. I have been putting my songs on Apple Music every month, but the money I am generating is too low,” he said. “They said it is because Nigerian streams are cheap, but I also have fans in America and all over the world. Where is the revenue from those foreign streams?”

The singer made a public appeal to renowned music executive Don Jazzy, asking for guidance on how to improve his earnings from streaming platforms.

“Don Jazzy, please help me and teach me how to generate more money from music streams. I have an Apple Music account, but the revenue I receive is very low. They even divide my earnings into 17. Please, come and teach me how to fetch music money,” he added.

Portable further stated that gaining the right knowledge on music monetisation could significantly elevate his career, declaring that with proper guidance, he believes he could surpass other artists in Nigeria in terms of success.
