2027: Siminalayi Fubara Urges National Unity, Backs Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Second Term

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on Nigerians to unite in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the country’s progress depends on sustained leadership.

Fubara, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the remarks while declaring open a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt.

He urged citizens to rally behind the President to enable continuity in policy implementation and national development efforts.

Describing Tinubu as a committed and patriotic leader, Fubara expressed confidence in the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which he said is focused on economic transformation, improved security, and balanced development across the country.

The governor noted that the administration has recorded notable achievements within its first three years, adding that greater progress is possible if given another term in office.

He acknowledged ongoing challenges in parts of the country but maintained that there is growing trust in the President’s leadership and reform direction.

The high-level meeting brought together traditional rulers from the South-South, South-East, and South-West regions, with discussions centred on the role of traditional institutions in fostering unity, peace, and sustainable development across Southern Nigeria.
