Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has confirmed that he is working on a joint album with American R&B star Chris Brown, with the project slated for release next year.
Speaking on the Swift Conversations podcast, Davido revealed that while his current sound is deeply rooted in African influences, he remains open to global collaborations.
“The music I am making now is very African. In this next project, I am working with a lot of my original producers from back home,” he said. “However, I am still an American, so definitely there’s going to be collaborations. Me and Chris Brown got an album coming next year.”
The duo share a long-standing musical relationship, dating back to their 2019 hit collaboration Blow My Mind, which helped strengthen Davido’s international reach. Since then, both artists have teamed up on several tracks, building a strong creative synergy.
Davido also disclosed that they have recorded numerous unreleased songs together over the years, fueling anticipation for the upcoming joint project.
The announcement comes as the Afrobeats star continues to evolve his sound, blending global appeal with strong African identity, while expanding his footprint on the international music scene.
