Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has raised fresh allegations against the Oyo State Government, claiming there are moves underway to remove the Olubadan of Ibadan, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
Fayose, in a statement shared via his official X handle on Tuesday, insisted that the alleged plan would begin unfolding this week, urging skeptics to closely monitor events.
“Those still in doubt about Governor Makinde’s plot to remove the Olubadan should keep their fingers crossed and follow unfolding developments,” he wrote.
The claim, however, has been strongly rejected by both the Oyo State Government and the monarch, who described the allegation as unfounded and without merit.
Fayose further argued that recent developments support his position, alleging that after initially denying any such plan, the government has shifted to accusing the Olubadan of political interference.
According to him, authorities are now issuing statements portraying the monarch as partisan and linking him to alleged moves to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde a narrative Fayose claims is part of a broader strategy to justify action against the traditional ruler.
