Nigerian singer J Martins has appealed to the former Psquare duo, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, urging them to settle their differences privately and stop airing their disputes in public.
His intervention comes shortly after Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, announced a change to his long-standing birthday date from November 18 to November 30, a decision that has sparked fresh conversations about the strained relationship within the Okoye family.
Reacting via X, J Martins expressed surprise at the development, describing the situation as painful for long-time associates and fans.
“These are my brothers for more than two decades. I still don’t understand why one will just wake up decades to change his own birthday separate from his twin brother,” he wrote.
He urged the duo to resolve their issues behind closed doors, stressing the need for unity and discretion.
“Fix these things inside our house and not bring this shame on Ndi Igbo,” he added.
The Okoye brothers, once the celebrated force behind the music group P-Square, have had a long history of public and private disputes. Their first major fallout in 2017 stemmed from disagreements involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
Although they reconciled in 2021 and briefly reunited on stage, tensions resurfaced in 2024 amid renewed allegations and disagreements, including claims of financial mismanagement and legal disputes involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
