Media personality Robert Ekpo has been served a cease-and-desist notice by his ex-wife, Mayowa Lambe, demanding a public retraction and ₦100 million in damages over alleged defamatory statements made during a podcast appearance.
The notice, dated April 22 and signed by K. Umoh Esq., was issued through the legal department of Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, a group focused on supporting victims of abuse. It was made public via the foundation’s founder, Yolanda George-David, on X.
According to the notice, Ekpo is required to immediately cease further publication of the statements, remove all related content across his platforms, and issue an unreserved public apology using the same channels through which the claims were shared. He is also expected to pay ₦100 million in damages.
The legal team warned that failure to comply within three days could trigger formal legal proceedings, including claims for aggravated damages, injunctive relief, and potential criminal complaints. Third parties were also cautioned against further dissemination of the disputed content.
The development follows Ekpo’s appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he gave an emotional account of the breakdown of his marriage, alleging infidelity, deception, and prolonged financial strain.
Ekpo and Lambe, who married in November 2015 after meeting on Instagram, had largely kept their relationship private before the recent controversy, which has now escalated into a legal dispute.
