Nigerian music producer and executive ID Cabasa has pushed back against long-standing religious beliefs that label the secular music industry as controlled by the devil.
Speaking on the place of Christian creatives in the mainstream music space, Cabasa argued that such perceptions are misleading and discourage believers from fully participating in the industry.
He acknowledged that sin and carnality are associated with the devil, but stressed that the earth and everything in it ultimately belong to God.
“If you are a Christian creative within the secular space, please pay attention! There’s an agenda to dissuade you from taking that space with a lie that the devil owns that space,” he said.
“The devil owns sin and carnality, yes. But the earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof. Their evil cannot trump your light,” he added.
Cabasa urged Christian creatives not to limit their influence due to such beliefs, encouraging them to occupy the space with confidence and purpose.
