Former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has died after collapsing while playing a football match in Kaduna State.
According to Dip Connect Online News, the 40-year-old reportedly slumped during a game at the Angwan Yelwa pitch in the Television area of Kaduna on Friday.
Sources said Eneramo, who came on as a substitute in the second half, suddenly collapsed without any contact from other players. Efforts to revive him at the scene were unsuccessful, and he was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Eneramo, who had retired from professional football, enjoyed a career that saw him feature for clubs such as Beşiktaş, Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and Lobi Stars. Before his passing, he was reportedly running a football academy.
Reacting to the news, the official Super Eagles X handle paid tribute to the former forward, sharing his photo with the message: “Rest in peace Michael.”
