Oluremi Tinubu Says She Prefers Quiet Work Over Publicity, Highlights Years of Grassroots Engagement

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has described herself as someone who works quietly behind the scenes, saying she places more value on results than public attention or media praise.

She spoke during an interview on Unuatta TV News, where she reflected on her long involvement in politics and her consistent engagement with people at the grassroots level.

Tinubu said she had originally planned to respond to some of the issues she raised after the 2027 elections, but felt it was important to speak out earlier than she had intended.

According to her, her political experience includes participating in and winning elections on multiple occasions, adding that she has served in state-level leadership for three terms as a woman.

She explained that her approach to leadership has always been centred on hard work, steady commitment, and staying close to the people she serves, rather than focusing on publicity or media appearances.

She also pointed to her record of holding regular town hall meetings, saying she remains the only woman who has consistently organised quarterly engagements with constituents, which she believes reflects her commitment to grassroots connection.
