Tambuwal Urges Swift Action After Bandits Kill 17 in Sokoto Community

Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent bandit attacks on Dangulbi community in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State, describing the incidents as a painful reminder of the security challenges facing communities in the region.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Tambuwal condemned the killings, destruction of property and displacement of residents caused by the attacks. He said the repeated assault on innocent citizens was unacceptable and posed a serious threat to peace and security in the state.

“I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the unfortunate attacks on Dangulbi community. These repeated attacks on innocent citizens are painful, unacceptable and a direct assault on the peace and security of our communities,” the former governor said.

Tambuwal extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished those injured a speedy recovery. He also sympathised with residents forced to flee their homes and prayed for the safe return of individuals reportedly abducted during the attacks.

The senator urged security agencies to intensify efforts to restore peace and strengthen protection for communities across the Sokoto-Zamfara corridor. He stressed that citizens deserve to live and carry out their daily activities without fear of violence or intimidation.

Tambuwal also called on residents to remain united and continue supporting lawful efforts aimed at tackling insecurity. He reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that enhance security and protect lives and property, following attacks in Dangulbi that reportedly claimed at least 17 lives on Sunday and were followed by another assault less than 48 hours later, raising fresh concerns about safety in the area.
