Tinubu’s Policies Deliver Greatest Benefits to Low-Income Nigerians, Says Bwala

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Daniel Bwala, has stated that low-income Nigerians are the primary beneficiaries of the current administration’s policies and intervention programmes. He made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Tuesday.

Bwala said several initiatives introduced by the Federal Government were specifically designed to improve the welfare of ordinary citizens and provide support for vulnerable groups across the country. According to him, the administration’s focus remains on policies that directly impact the daily lives of Nigerians.

Among the programmes highlighted was the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which he described as a major intervention in the education sector. Bwala noted that more than one million students have already benefited from the scheme, helping many young Nigerians gain access to higher education despite financial challenges.

He also pointed to the government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative, saying the programme is beginning to ease transportation costs and provide alternatives to conventional fuel. While acknowledging calls for greater investment in the sector, he maintained that the initiative is already producing positive results for citizens.

In the healthcare sector, Bwala cited government support for cesarean section procedures and subsidies for dialysis treatment as examples of targeted interventions aimed at assisting less privileged Nigerians. He argued that such programmes demonstrate the administration’s commitment to expanding access to essential healthcare services.

According to the presidential aide, the direct impact of President Tinubu’s policies is being felt most strongly by poorer Nigerians rather than the wealthy. He maintained that the administration’s interventions are structured to address the needs of everyday citizens and improve their quality of life through education, transportation and healthcare support.
