Insecurity: Nigeria Will Not Bow to Domestic or Foreign Pressure — Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that Nigeria will never yield to internal or external forces attempting to destabilise the nation’s security, pledging unwavering support to the armed forces during a morale-boosting visit to frontline troops in Katsina State on Friday.

Amid ongoing attacks and raids in states such as Borno, Plateau, Benue, and Enugu, Tinubu assured Nigerian troops that his administration is committed to equipping and supporting them, both in warfare and welfare.

“To those who seek to destabilise our nation, be they domestic collaborators or foreign agents, hear this: Nigeria will not bow—not to fear, not to terror, not to treachery,” he declared.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the well-being of military personnel, promising swift implementation of initiatives covering family support, timely payment of allowances, insurance, healthcare, and improved housing and remuneration.

“The Federal Government stands firmly behind you. As your Commander-in-Chief, I am fully aware of the challenges you face. We are taking bold steps to equip you with advanced equipment, superior intelligence, and robust logistical support—not only to defend this nation but to dominate and defeat every adversary,” Tinubu told the troops.

The President emphasised that while weapons are essential, the welfare of the armed forces remains paramount. He described soldiers as the “shield of Nigeria” and “silent guardians of our democracy,” praising their courage and selfless service.

“You face danger not for wealth or recognition, but for the love of our dear country. That, my brothers and sisters in uniform, is the highest form of patriotism,” he said.

Tinubu acknowledged the emotional and physical sacrifices of the soldiers, many of whom have left behind families to serve the nation. He assured them that their sacrifices will not be forgotten.

Highlighting the persistent threats of terrorism, banditry, and insurgency, he called on the troops to rise to the occasion:
“My dear soldiers, this is a defining moment in our history. Nigerians are counting on us—and on you—to end this menace and reclaim every inch of our territory. Let the enemies of Nigeria know—their time is up.”

The President concluded by assuring the military of his full backing:
“This war will not be won by weapons alone, but by the will to resist, fight, and triumph. As your President, I will match your courage with action, investment, and unwavering support. Stay strong. Stay focused. For God and country. May God bless you, and may God bless the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
