Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has raised concerns over an online impersonation scheme, warning fans and the public to be cautious of fraudulent individuals using his identity.
The actor disclosed this in a post shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, revealing that a person reportedly based in the United Kingdom has been posing as him in online conversations.
Johnson shared a screenshot of a chat with the suspected impersonator, making it clear that he has no connection to the individual or any activities linked to them.
He stated that the phone number being used does not belong to him and urged the public to treat any communication from the impersonator as fake.
“I do not know this person and do not represent whatever he or she stands for,” he said.
The actor also clarified that he does not currently operate through a personal manager or assistant for business dealings, dismissing any claims suggesting otherwise.
He warned that any messages, offers, or business proposals made in his name through such channels should be ignored.
Johnson further urged fans and the public to report the number being used by the impersonator, noting that such scams could damage his reputation and mislead unsuspecting individuals.
